ClearWeb 0.1.2 has no analytics, accounts, advertising, or remote server. It does not send browsing history, page content, or settings anywhere.
Your on/off preference and website exceptions are saved in Chrome’s local extension storage. Uninstalling the extension removes this storage. Hidden page elements are remembered only inside the current page until you reload.
Access to HTTP and HTTPS websites: find ad elements and apply pop-up protection. Chrome displays a broad website-access warning because this work requires access to page contents.
Network request rules: block requests matching the bundled advertising domains.
Scripting: install the pop-up guard in the website’s JavaScript context.
Storage: save your preferences on this device.
Active tab: show controls for the website you are viewing.
There is no country check or language-based restriction. The interface is currently English. Coverage depends on the bundled rules and each website; this beta does not block every ad. It does not bypass subscriptions, remove existing notification permissions, or protect other applications.
ClearWeb does not download filter updates. This beta receives new filters when you install a new extension version.
